CPM sees red at use of lotus in Republic Day placard, BJP points out it's India's national flower

Kozhikode: Republic Day rally in Thamarassery, Kozhikode, in Kerala, turned into a battlefield as members of the CPI(M) and the BJP indulged in a fight. A picture and video of children holding placards with an image of the lotus triggered this row. CPI(M) workers took objection to the image since it resembles the party symbol of the BJP.
