Former Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah hit back at the BJP by saying if they have the support of 1 lakh farmers, 2 lakh farmers are with the Congress. And, speaking about the Cabinet expansion, Siddaramaiah made it clear Bagalkot region will not get any ministry. He said, Bagalkot has only two MLAs, that is myself and Anand Nyamagouda (Jamkhandi constituency), who won recent by-elections. Nyamagouda is a first-time MLA. He contested for the by-poll following the death of his father, MLA Siddu Nyamagouda. Siddaramaiah reiterated that no MLA is disappointed with the choices for the Cabinet expansion. He also justified the decision to cancel the prestigious Hampi Utsav and said that decision was taken due to drought.
