Bengaluru woman journalist attacked, threatened by goons for reporting on illegal mining

Bengaluru: A woman journalist of a Kannada TV news channel was attacked by goons for reporting on illegal mining inside the Bannerghatta National Park, near Bengaluru. She was accompanied by a cameraperson and the car’s driver. Seeing this, a team of seven people attacked them, stopped the car and demanded that the video footage be deleted. When the journalist refused to do so, they started banging on the window of the car and asked them to step out of the car. When the journalist did not budge, they warned of dire consequences and followed them to the police station. Even at the police station, they threatened the journalist and the cameraperson and said, "We will see how you move from here without deleting the footage." The journalist has claimed that there are illegal activities taking place inside the national park including rampant mining. The incident took place at 2.30 PM, yesterday. Bannerghatta National Park is an eco-sensitive area.
