Bengaluru police detains two for flying drone in defence area

Bengaluru police have arrested two persons for flying a drone in HAL limits. The accused persons have been identified as Syed (24) and Bharath (28), residents of Whitefield. Additional Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the youths have violated DGCA guidelines and were responsible for putting the life of pilots in danger.


Krishna Naik, chief manager, Helicopter Division of HAL filed a complaint with the police few days ago. The complaint stated that, Hari Nair, a pilot was flying a helicopter on December 15 for testing, around 1.30pm in the surroundings of HAL premises, when some unidentified persons were flying a drone which was detected by the radar.

According to police, the youths work for advertisement agency and were shooting an advertisement for Prestige apartments on that day.  A case under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 287 (Negligent conduct with respect to machinery) 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) has been registered.
