Aero India 2019: India’s answer to AK-47 lies in Trichy

Innovative products in the defence sector lined the many stalls at Aero India 2019, organised in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. One of them was the rifle made in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy, which is reportedly on par with the AK-47. The Ordnance Factory Board has put up a stall at the aero show showcasing various rifles including the Nirbheek, a light-weight revolver designed for women, after the Nirbhaya episode shook the entire nation.
