Karnataka: 40 govt school students fall ill after consuming mid-day meals

Koppal: On Thursday, about 40 students of a government school from Karnataka's Koppal district were taken ill after consuming food under the mid-day meal programme in Bevoor village. The students were rushed to the Koppal district hospital after facing severe stomach pain and vomiting. The students are now out of danger.

According to reports, it is alleged that a dead lizard was found in the mid-day meal. However, a probe has been ordered to take action on the same. The mid-day meal was cooked by the school authorities and was not given contracts to any third-party service provider
