Another case of political violence has emerged from Bengal's South 24 Parganas where a BJP leader, Shaktipada Sarkar, has been ruthlessly killed by unidentified men who attacked him with knives and other sharp objects.

The BJP has alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) is behind it, a charge that the TMC denied.

Sarkar was a Mandal secretary who was returning home when his bicycle was stopped near Netaji More of Mandir Bazaar. He was declared dead upon reaching hospital.
