1. Kunchikal Falls, Karnataka
If you have a thirst for adventure, plan a trip to Kunchikal Falls, located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka, this monsoon. However, you'll need prior permission to visit this waterfall as it falls within a hydroelectric project area.

The nearest airport is Mangalore. Alternatively, you can take a train to Udupi railway station. From there, you can reach Kunchikal by car or taxi.
2. Barehipani Falls, Odisha
Barehipani Falls is located inside Simlipal National Park in Odisha. It's approximately 399 meters high. The two-tiered waterfall and its roar will beckon you from afar. Permits to visit are not issued during the peak monsoon season. The best time to witness its mesmerizing beauty is after the monsoon, in late September or October.
How to get there?
There are two entry points to Simlipal National Park: Baripada and Jashipur. It's approximately 300 kilometers from Kolkata and 252 kilometers from Bhubaneswar to either Baripada or Jashipur.
3. Nohkalikai Falls, Meghalaya
Nohkalikai Falls is India's tallest plunging waterfall. The milky white, foamy water of Nohkalikai, cascading down the rocks from a height of 340 meters, is a major attraction in Meghalaya. There are stairs along the mountainside leading down to the base of the waterfall. This awe-inspiring beauty will leave you mesmerized during the monsoon.
How to get there?
Whether by plane or train, reach Guwahati and then travel by road to Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, which is about 165-170 kilometers away. You can also travel from Shillong.
