Car owners must ensure regular servicing and cleaning of their vehicles for maintaining good performance. Today, let’s learn how you can properly wash a car at home.

Car maintenance is extremely important for keeping the vehicle in good condition. If you love to go on long car drives, you must also pay attention to its regular servicing and cleaning. While many choose to take their cars to professional car washing centres due to busy work schedules, others prefer to clean them at home. When washing a car, it’s essential to consider certain factors to avoid any damage.

Tools you must have

To wash a car effectively, it's important to have the right tools and materials on hand. Here are some items you will need: car washing liquid, a soft sponge, microfiber cloth, and a dry microfiber towel. Moreover, apart from cleaning the exterior of the car, you must also invest in a good vacuum cleaner for cleaning the car’s interior. Prepare three separate buckets: one for clean water, one for dirty water, and one for the cleaning solution. You can also use a hose for convenience.

Cleaning the car

When cleaning your car, pay attention to parts such as headlights, windows, and doors on the exterior. For interiors, use a vacuum cleaner and cleaning wipes to tidy up cup holders and other parts. Use a cleaning solution for washing the carpets separately. Finally, after washing, give the car a wipe down with a clean, dry cloth for a polished finish.

Right time

When washing your car, choosing the right time is also important. Avoid washing your car while it's parked in direct sunlight, as this can lead to damage. The soap water and cleaning products may dry quickly in the sun, leading to rust and stains. Wash your car in the morning or evening when the sun is low.
