In Chandigarh, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) launched a trial program to treat victims of auto accidents without taking any payment.
In order to cure victims of vehicular accidents without the need for cash, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has started a trial project in Chandigarh.
This allows a person to receive cashless treatment for up to Rs 1.5 lakh per accident within seven days of the incident.
According to a statement from MoRTH, the possibility of expanding the cashless treatment facility to the entire nation will be taken into consideration, contingent upon the results of the pilot program. It applies to all traffic accidents on any kind of road that are brought on by the use of motor vehicles.

What Is 'Pilot Project'?
-Any traffic accident resulting from the functioning of a motor vehicle on any type of road is covered by this initiative.
-In addition, it includes hospital claims for payment from the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund for the services rendered.
-co-opted AB PM-JAY bundles for cases of trauma and polytrauma.
-For a maximum of seven days from the date of the accident, victims will be eligible for cashless treatment up to a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakhs per accident per person.
Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund will be used to reimburse hospitals for treatment claims made under the Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) package for trauma and polytrauma cases.
To provide a national hub for the reporting, administration, and analysis of data on traffic accidents, the Ministry has already started the electronic Detailed Accident Report (e-DAR) Project. It will support the provision of an international practice-compliant real-time causal analysis of traffic incidents.
