Father of martyred solider sepoy Kundan has said that he is willing to send two of his grandsons for the sake of the country
Bengaluru: As 20 Indian soldiers laid down their lives in the line of duty at the Galwan Valley at the India-China border, the nations pays tribute to the courageous men.
Sepoy Kundan Kumar too was one of the bravehearts who got martyred saving his motherland.
Now, his father has said that he is proud of his son’s sacrifice. He said that if given a chance, he will send his two grandsons to join the army as well so that they could serve the nation.
“My son sacrificed his life for the nation. I have two grandsons, I will send them too,” as reported by Hindustan Times.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised the nation that the sacrifices of the soldiers will not go a waste.

He said, “I would like to assure the nation that the sacrifice of our jawans will not be in vain. For us, the unity and sovereignty of the country is the most important. India wants peace but it is capable of giving a befitting reply if instigated.
A note on the incident:
It all began when Indian soldiers dismantled a Chinese tent at Patrol Point 14, which is close to the mouth of the Galwan river. News18 has reported that the tent had been dismantled following a meeting between Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, who commands the Leh-based XIV Corps, and Major-General Lin Liu, the head of the Xinjiang military district

But just within two days, it should be noted that the PLA set up a fresh tent at Patrol Point 14. This was in clear violation of the agreement.
So, the tent was burned down. Col Santosh Babu also laid down his life. His father, proud of his son’s martyrdom added that it is a privilege to die for the country.
India has always maintained that all its activities are well within its borders:
"Given its responsible approach to border management, India is very clear that all its activities are always within the Indian side of the LAC. We expect the same of the Chinese side," MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said.
