Bengaluru: On Monday, Boeing released footage of the F/A-18 Super Hornet Block III making a successful and "safe launch" from a ski-jump ramp.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet Block III, which has been the backbone of the US navy's carrier wing, comes with an Advanced Cockpit System which includes a touch screen that provides the pilot with the capability to see, track and target multiple long-range targets.
Boeing claims that the F/A-18 Super Hornet Block III is an air superiority fighter aircraft that has the capability of day and night strikes with precision-guided weapons.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet Block III can perform a myriad of roles including maritime strike, fighter escort, close air support, enemy air defence suppression and reconnaissance.
