Taking to Twitter, TDP leader and former minister Nara Lokesh claimed that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP was playing with flood-affected victims' lives by providing expired materials to the survivors
Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday (August 24) slammed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) as it has found itself in a controversy after it surfaced that oil packets that were supplied by the Guntur district administration to the victims of the Krishna floods in Kolluru mandal, were expired on July 16.
A woman, who staged a protest in Kolluru, after she received the oil packets, demanded the district administration to take back the expired products and give them a fresh batch.
Speaking to reporters, the woman said, "We will fall sick if we use these expired oil in cooking. We are already suffering due to the flood and the district administration should visit us and take required steps to rectify this mistake."
Taking to Twitter, TDP leader and former minister Nara Lokesh slammed the YSRCP government. In a tweet, Lokesh said, "They are playing with the public's health by supplying old oil packets to flood victims."

Speaking to media, district civil supplies corporation manager Lakshma Reddy said, "The godown in-charge had kept few packets aside after noticing that the stocks were from an expired batch. But, the workers mixed them with the valid stocks. We are taking back all the packets of oil that have crossed the expiry date. We will identify the suppliers and take stringent action."
Earlier this month, more than 30 villages of Krishna district and 50 villages of Guntur district were affected by floods where more than 8,000 people were moved to 56 relief camps as water entered villages on the banks of the swollen River Krishna.
