Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have found an innovative way to honour the jawans.
The KSCA, RCB and Bharathi Cements will sponsor 60 jawans to witness Virat Kohli-led RCB’s IPL 2019 matches at home.

The KSCA, RCB and Bharathi Cements will be equal partners in this venture and will sponsor 20 jawans each.
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium will host seven league matches from March 28 to May 4. RCB's first home game is against Mumbai Indians (MI).

“The jawans are the pride of our nation. They are the sentinels of our liberty. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in collaboration with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Bharathi Cements have taken the initiative to invite 60 jawans to witness each of the seven IPL matches being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium from March 28 till May 4,” the KSCA said in a media release on Wednesday (March 27).
“The KSCA will be sponsoring 20 Jawans and similarly, both the RCB and Bharathi Cements would each be sponsoring 20 Jawans to witness the matches,” it added.
Last month, the KSCA and Paytm had invited orphan kids to watch India-Australia T20I match at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
KSCA official spokesperson Vinay Mruthyunjaya had said, “We at KSCA are always committed to give back to the society in various ways and this is certainly one of the most special ways. We ensured the kids were brought here safely, seated comfortably and are also provided food and water.”
Also, during India-Australia game, the organisers effectively managed to minimise and manage waste at the stadium which witnessed more than 30,000 spectators.
The waste management initiative was undertaken by the KSCA, in partnership with Saahas Zero Waste (SZW) and various vendors at the stadium.
In the past too, the KSCA has been in the forefront of taking up various initiatives for the game and beyond it.
Recently, Indian players wore Army caps during the third ODI against Australia in Ranchi. Kohli and his men paid tributes to the CRPF jawans, who were martyred in Pulwana terror attack in February. The Indian players also donated their match fees.
