Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF-led Kerala government has decided to implement periodic organisational changes to win the support of the populace by hitting out at the alleged anti-people stand of RSS-BJP. The Kerala CPI(M) had earlier admitted that their stance on the Sabarimala issue made a significant impact on the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

After the state committee meeting, party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Congress, which is the main opposition party in the country, was unable to counter the anti-people governance of the BJP and RSS, according to reports. He added that the Congress is unable to put up a strong opposition to counter the RSS-BJP and the Congress leaders are being threatened. Even the chief whip had resigned from Rajya Sabha recently, he said.

He then said that their Rajya Sabha MP Jharna Das, who was asked to join BJP by Amit Shah was given a strong reply by the CPM leader. Das had said that the Left is putting up alternative politics that will not succumb to the RSS threats and that she would oppose “communalism till her last breath”.

Balakrishnan also said that communal forces and both Muslim and Hindu terrorism are strengthening, while destroying the secular fabric of the state.

He also said the Left members would fight such forces along with those who believe in democracy and secularism.  At the end, he said that his party would win back the support of Kerala citizens and that the party members have been strictly asked not to engage in violence.
