Lakshmi Vilas Palace spans 500 acres, which is four times larger than Buckingham Palace. It features 170 rooms. 
 

Lakshmi Vilas Palace was built in the 19th century in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architectural style. 
 

The owner of the palace, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, lives in the palace with his family. 

A section of the palace is open to tourists. One can also organize weddings or events in this section open to visitors. 
 

It is believed that this palace was constructed in ten years. The large ground within the premises features a 10-hole golf course. 
 

The palace, built in 1890 by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, cost about Rs 60 lakh at the time. Today. It has a value of Rs 2400 crore.
