He is making headlines for exempting the fees for 51,000 students for the academic year 2023-24, to support students from economically weaker backgrounds. 
 

According to Physics Wallah, under the institution’s Right to Education initiative, fee waivers were provided for a range of courses including NEET, JEE, and class 9-12 coaching. 
 

Physics Wallah has waived off fees totalling more than Rs 17 crore for 51,000 students. Alakh Pandey expresses his relentless support to students from underprivileged backgrounds.
 

Alakh Pandey was born on 2 October 1991 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Satish Pandey is a private contractor, and his mother, Rajat Pandey is a teacher. 
 

Alakh Pandey did his schooling from Bishop Johnson School. He was pursuing mechanical engineering at a college in Kanpur but he discontinued his studies during third year. 
 

Alakh Pandey embarked on his YouTube journey in 2016. He began uploading educational videos for class 9 to 12. His focused remained on helping students preparing for NEET and JEE.
 

Alakh Pandey launched the Physics Wallah website and mobile application in 2019. In the year 2022, Physics Wallah became India’s sixth Edtech Unicorn.
