IAS Divya Tanwar: Young achiever who cracked UPSC twice

Divya Tanwar, a young woman from the small village of Nimbi in Haryana, became an IPS officer at just 21 years old, making headlines for her achievement. 

But Divya's journey didn't end there. She took the UPSC exam again and achieved her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Divya's success also caught the attention of renowned educator Vikas Divyakirti, who regards her as one of his favourite students.

Divya was born in Nimbi village, Haryana. After her father passed away when she was young, her mother, Babita Tanwar, worked as a labourer to support the family.

Divya completed her early education at Navodaya Vidyalaya and earned a BSc degree from Government Women's College. After graduating, she began preparing for the UPSC exam.

In 2021, at the age of 21, Divya sat for the UPSC exam for the first time and became the youngest IPS officer, achieving a rank of 438.

Divya secured a post as an IPS officer, but her dream was to become an IAS officer. Rather than resting on her achievements, she took the UPSC exam again the following year.

In her next attempt, she achieved a rank of 105, fulfilling her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
