Why Special Protection Group (Amendment) Bill is necessary
The Special Protection Group (SPG) security cover that was provided to the Gandhi family including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi was withdrawn by the Union Government on November 8, 2019. The SPG cover remains exclusive only to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Supriya Krishnamurthy simplifies why it was necessary to remove the SPG cover for the Gandhis, with inputs of Vicky Nanjappa.
