The Election Commission of India (ECI) has declared that Tirong Aboh had received 5366 votes, while Phawang Lowang, his lone rival, got 4311 votes

Tirong Aboh, his son, security personnel and party workers were shot dead by suspected militants of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland near Bogapani in Tirap district on Tuesday
 

Aboh’s son and nine people were also killed in the ambush allegedly led by the Naga outfit group. Aboh's PSO is also said to be in a critical condition.

Since April 25, tension had gripped the tiny village of Sihai in Manipur’s Ukhrul district as NSCN (IM) had violated the ceasefire by setting up an unauthorised camp there.

The Chairman, CFMG confirmed that the group had issued instructions for the immediate vacation of the NSCN (IM) camp. Accordingly, Assam Rifles troops contacted the villagers to confirm the vacation of the camp.
