Nirbhaya Gang Rape And Murder  

Vinay Sharma, one of the four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, challenged the President's decision to dismiss his mercy petition in the apex court on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, another Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder convict Akshay filed a curative petition to the Supreme Court. Today, the top court will pronounce its order on Mukesh Singh's mercy plea rejection.

The Supreme Court said that if a convict in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case files any petition, it will be the court's top priority, since the rapists are going to be executed on February 1. Mukesh Kumar Singh's counsel asked to approach the registry of the court for an urgent listing of his plea against rejection of mercy petition by the President.

The advocate for the convicts in Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, AP Singh, stated that they will be filing a curative petition in the Supreme Court within two days as they were issued the death warrant by a Delhi court earlier in the day.

The Tihar Jail authorities readied four new gallows frame which will allow for all four convicts of Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case to be hung together.
