Karnataka Congress MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan had challenged Yeddyurappa, saying that there was no way that the state BJP president would become the CM. “If Yeddyurappa becomes the chief minister, I will work as watchman in his house for a day”, Zameer had said earlier.
 

Led by senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar, a BJP delegation left for New Delhi last night (July 24) and is camping there to meet national president Amit Shan and working president JP Nadda to apprise them of the prospect of forming a government in Karnataka.

 On a day of hectic political developments, the BJP accused the coalition government of issuing appointments when it didn’t have the right to do so because of its minority status while caretaker chief minister and his father, former PM HD Deve Gowda accused the BJP of inducing fissures in the coalition.

Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition suffered an ignominious defeat in the trust vote, with the BJP securing 105 as against 99 by the coalition.

The Karnataka coalition government lost the majority by getting 99 votes in the trust vote session that was held today against the 105 MLAs who stood in opposition.

Ramesh Kumar, the Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly had adjourned the confidence motion sought by chief minister HD Kumaraswamy not once but thrice. This has raised several doubts about the way he conducts the House, prima facie, instilling fears that he might be resorting to nepotism.

Bengaluru: Karnataka assembly was adjourned a third time on July 23 in the last one week. Amid ruckus in the House, Speaker Ramesh Kumar adjourned the House and said the government has to prove its majority by 6 pm on July 23.  
 

With a view to buy more time, CM Kumaraswamy has met Speaker Ramesh and sought more time to take up trust vote. 

Karnataka Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar has expressed hope that the trust vote will be held in Karnataka today (July 22).
