This distressing situation led to his wife taking her own life due to the constant threats from creditors who had loaned money to her husband. The man, an assistant engineer at the state minor irrigation department in Hosadurga, Chitradurga, reportedly lost around Rs 1.5 crore in online cricket betting, which tragically resulted in his homemaker wife's suicide.
