Assam Government To Give Gold To Every Bride To Prevent Child Marriages
The Assam government has announced to start this special scheme to prevent child marriages and to encourage the registration of marriages.
Under the Arundhati Swarna Yojana, every girl in the state will be gifted 10 grams of gold at the time of marriage. The gold will not be given in the physical form. The government will deposit 30,000 rs in the bank account of the bride. The amount of Rs 30,000 for 10 grams of gold has been fixed after considering the average price of gold for the whole year.
