The film ‘Gandhi’ portrays Mahatma Gandhi’s journey from South Africa to his significant leadership in India’s Freedom Struggle. Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley played the role of Gandhiji in the movie.

Quit India Movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942. It was a significant milestone in India’s struggle for independence from British rule. The Salt Satyagraha, led by Mahatma Gandhi, began on 12 March 1930. With other revolutionaries, Gandhiji embarked on a 24-day foot march from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi village.

Rahul Gandhi is an Indian politician. He officially joined politics in 2004. The same year, he was elected as a Lok Sabha member from Amethi constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Presently, he is a member of the Indian Parliament, representing the constituency of Wayanad, Kerala in the Lok Sabha.

Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30 January 1948. To commemorate the death anniversary of Gandhiji, the nation observes this day as Martyr’s Day.

Priyanka Gandhi is an Indian politician. She is the daughter of Sonia Gandhi, the former President of INC, and Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. On 23 January 2019, she was appointed as the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress for handling operations in Uttar Pradesh.

Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi was sent to the Bundi Central Jail and will remain there until December 24, after the court rejected her bail application in a case related to her post on social media, which is allegedly defamatory and against the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Though the Gandhi family and the Congress seems to be upset about the passing of the Special  Protection Group (Amendment) BIll they do forget that if someone would be affected by this amendment, it would be Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his cover will be withdrawn after five years of him ceasing to be the PM.

The Special Protection Group (SPG) security cover that was provided to the Gandhi family including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi was withdrawn by the Union Government on November 8, 2019.
