The relationship between India and Japan has progressed significantly, given their position in the Indo-Pacific region and ties with the US

G20 Summit that is being held in Japan is back in the news after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held talks over bilateral ties. The two leaders discussed enhancing the cooperation in trade and investment, energy security, and counter-terrorism.

New Delhi will be the first stop for the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's week long visit to the Indo-Pacific region. He's likely to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Indo-US bilateral ties. 

During the meeting, Modi expressed that India expects Saudi Arabia to ramp up investments in several sectors including technology, farm, and energy over the next few years

This is the fourth meeting between the two leaders in the recent past, which indicates a constant improvement in the bilateral ties between the countries
