On October 10, 2017, Indian Air Force's Special Forces Garud announced its presence in the Kashmir valley with a big bang. As a part of the first Garud team operating in Hajin area, 13 Rashtriya Rifles were established.

While tackling a team of six to seven terrorists, who were trying to escape from a house, sergeant Milind Kishore and corporal Nilesh Nain killed two of them.

In an encounter that lasted for a short while, the two also managed to injure the other members of the team.

However, both of them were hit by the bullets and were martyred on duty.

For their gallantry, both Kishore and Nain were awarded the Shaurya Chakra (Posthumous).
