New Delhi: Rajesh Rawani has been working as a truck driver for more than 25 years. His job often deprived him of the opportunity of celebrating festivals with his family. He would often cook and eat in his vehicle alone. His love for food led him to start publishing cooking videos on YouTube. Along with that he even provided a glimpse into his life as a truck driver. The videos gained popularity, helping Rajesh become a renowned travel vlogger. With his substantial income, he even managed to buy a new home. Recently, industrialist Anand Mahindra praised him on social media. 

Early life

Rajesh Rawani, born in Jamtara in Jharkhand, spent most of his childhood in Ramgarh living in a rented house. After his father’s demise, he took on the responsibility of running the household. A friend of his father helped him enter the truck driving profession to sustain his family. Managing household expenses became easier, however, the nature of his job kept him apart from his family. 

Rajesh often documented his truck journeys, initially as an amateur. Inspired by his endeavours, his kids began uploading these videos on YouTube. As the videos gained popularity, he began earning a significant income from them. With his earnings, he was able to purchase a new house.

Remarkably, Rajesh Rawani boasts 147,000 subscribers on YouTube and 818,000 followers on Instagram. While on the road, he documents his travels and often prepares food on the side of the roads with minimal ingredients. His simple cooking techniques are widely appreciated among the audience. Rajesh has also earned admiration from the renowned businessman Anand Mahindra.

He added how Rajesh ventured into food and travel vlogging while continuing his truck driver job and amassed 1.5 million followers on YouTube.
