Taking to Twitter, Kanav Sharma, a management consultant at AT Kearney posted a series of tweets accusing an Ola cab driver of supporting Centre's decision on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)
Bengaluru: Kanav Sharma, a Management Consultant at AT Kearney on Friday (January 24), posted a series of tweets in which he decided to complain to Ola cabs as the driver, in which he was travelling was in support of the Centre's decision on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and other policies.
In a series of tweets, Sharma said that the cab driver overheard his phone conversation where he was talking about India's economic situation.
Took @Olacabs yesterday. Driver overheard my phone conversation where I was talking about India’s economic situation. He said, “only 6 years of Modi government, how can you blame economy?” It is congress’s fault of 70 years. I asked him, so what all wrongs did congress do?(1/n)— Kanav Sharma (@kanavdm) January 24, 2020
However, the cab driver went on to defend Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government, which he found offending.
He said, “Congress created JNU which is a prositution hub of Tukde Tukde gang. You know who was Nehru? He was India’s first PM but his grandfather was a Muslim who converted to Hinduism to fool Indian people.” (2/n)— Kanav Sharma (@kanavdm) January 24, 2020
I told him that you should check your facts and even if your belief is true, so how does it affect me? I am concerned about the economy and it’s not good! (3/n)— Kanav Sharma (@kanavdm) January 24, 2020
He continued, “you are one of those anti-national people who find everything wrong with the government. You must also be against CAA and NRC” (4/n)— Kanav Sharma (@kanavdm) January 24, 2020
I said yes I am against these. He continued, “where was your opposition when Kashmiri Pandits were raped and murdered.” I told, that’s a wrong that happened, but I am from Jammu & Kashmir and have grown up with people of all religions. I respect all of them. (5/n)— Kanav Sharma (@kanavdm) January 24, 2020
With the series of tweets surfacing on Twitter, netizens slammed Sharma for his act in which he tagged Ola Cabs and urged them to inform their drivers to only focus on driving than having a conversation with the customers.
Netizens also took to Twitter and took turns to troll the man who complained about the driver.
Protests broke out in different parts of the country against the CAA which grants citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Buddhists and Christians fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and who came to India on or before December 31, 2014.
