Recently, Kher complained that according to a piece of news that reached him through a fan on Twitter, the trailer was pulled down and was not available as the first result on YouTube. It was back on the platform later. The movie is based on the controversial book by the then-media advisor to Singh, Sanjaya Baru. Hours within its release, the trailer of the movie garnered many views and was one of the trending searches online.

In an interview, Kher said that in the movie, he has given the best performance of his life and would not like to back out from the same. The movie also stars Akshaye Khanna in the role of media advisor/book writer, Sanjaya Baru. The movie is slated for release on January 11, 2019.
