Amritsar: A US woman came to India to get married to her Punjabi boyfriend whom she met on Facebook. The video of the couple getting hitched is going viral.
Emily Wollin, former teaching assistant at University of North Dakota got married to Pawan Kumar, Amritsar-based handloom industry worker. Emily and Pawan came in contact with each other seven months ago through Facebook.
According to Pawan the couple started speaking over Facebook Messenger and then exchanged the numbers. They also interacted on WhatsApp. Emily who fell for Pawan came to India and proposed to him after meeting him in person.
The wedding was held according to Punjabi tradition where Emily wore mehendi, chuda and pink-coloured suit.
She is ready to stay in India because she would love to be with Pawan and cook for him. But she says that the decision is left to Pawan.
