How Modi draws fans from across society: Answer found at Kumbh Mela

Prayagraj/New Delhi: At the Kumbh Mela held in Prayagraj in February, MyNation ran into these energetic young people who are all super-active on social media, especially Twitter, campaigning for the BJP in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular. While all parties have campaigners, what makes these youngsters an interesting bunch to watch out for is that they were hitherto not related to the BJP. None is a run-of-the-mill karyakarta.

Sandeep Singh is a software professional based in Noida. YK Sharma is an executive in a construction company situated in Gurgaon. Arpit Mishra is a trader in the glass industry, with his office in Noida. Prakash Singh Joshi is a banker in Delhi. Pradeep Singh is a businessman in Delhi hailing from Varanasi.

And they are just a drop in the ocean, so large was the group that congregated at the wonderfully organised Kumbh this year.

Someone was moved by the prompt action by the Modi government in response to a tweet posted by the Twitter user in distress. Somebody identifies with the causes that Modi fights for. Somebody does it for dharma. And none is a paid worker. They spare time from their jobs and businesses for, they believe firmly, the sake of the nation.
