Bengaluru: Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, in a bid to extend the longevity of his government, has decided to revive a project which he aimed to implement over a decade ago. Kumaraswamy intends to build a golden chariot for the Kukke Subrahmanya temple.
The 14-year-old project has resurfaced after Dwarakanath, who provides counsel to many political leaders, said that the project must be completed to save the coalition government.
Reacting to this, BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje, on Tuesday addressed media stating, “No God could save the coalition government as the people are upset over Kumaraswamy's rule.”
Negative reactions were not limited to the opposition party in the state
Ramakrishna, a lawyer of a local court in Mysuru, held a sit-in protest. He urged the chief minister to use the money which he intends to spend on building the golden chariot for the development of the state instead.
Meanwhile, JD(S) national spokesperson Tanveer Ahmed appealed to the people to allow the chief minister to fulfil his promises.
