Hassan: Following the defeat of former prime minister Deve Gowda in Karnataka’s Hassan, grandson Prajwal Revanna, who had won the only seat for JD(S) in the same constituency expressed his desire to resign as it’s MP. Prajwal said that he wants to see Deve Gowda victorious.
The decision comes in the wake of Deve Gowda's defeat from Tumakuru, in the Lok Sabha election. Deve Gowda had given his Hassan seat to launch grandson Prajwal in politics. At the same time, he had announced that this would be the last election wherein he would contest.
But, after Deve Gowda suffered a defeat in Tumakuru, Prajwal was saddened by the fact that Deve Gowda lost his last election. Prajwal has therefore decided to give up the seat so that he can see Deve Gowda victorious in Hassan.
