Mandya: While Mandya Lok Sabha constituency's independent candidate Sumalatha began to take the lead against JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy, supporters of both the parties indulged in verbal abuse. This took an ugly turn when they began hurling liqur bottles and using knives to make arguments.
Four people, who supported Sumalatha were severely injured. They were rushed to a government hospital. A case has been registered with the Mandya police, and further investigation is underway.
