BJP's Anant Kumar Hegde is all set to enter Parliament for the sixth time. Though official announcement of his victory in Uttara Kannada is still awaited, his lead of 4 lakh votes over his opponent has made his victory somewhat inevitable.
BJP MLAs and leaders gathered at Baliga College in Kumta, where counting is taking place, and presented him with a larger-than-life garland.
Currently, Anant Kumar Hegde has a lead of 4,13,000 votes against his opponent from the JD(S), Anand Asnotikar. MLA Rupali Naik, Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty, Bhatkal MLA Sunila Naik and former MLA Sunil Hegde congratulated Anant Kumar Hegde in person.
