Bengaluru: For Tamilians living in Karnataka and particularly in a state where Karnataka BJP president and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa's home ground, Shivamogga, it is BJP for them.

Shivamogga's Tamil Sangam vice-president N Manjunath says it is Thiruvalluvar statue, grants for community and land for the temple that made Tamils bent towards the saffron party.

The community also remembers the efforts of former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa towards giving 3 acres of land for construction of community hall, temple and quarters for priests. He had also granted Rs 50 lakh towards Tamil Sangam and upgrading Tamil School from primary to up to matriculation.
