Thiruvananthapuram: Natives of Thiruvananthapuram had great difficulty as there were errors in the functioning of voting machines. UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor said to media that his party had complained regarding this issue to the authorities.
Meanwhile, district collector K Vasuki said that the voting machines are fine and that the news alleging malfunction of these machines is false. Reports claiming that the polling booth in the Kovalam constituency was in serious trouble at booth number 151 are baseless allegations, she said.
According to reports, at a booth in Kovalam, Thiruvananthapuram, when a person pressed the button to vote for the Congress candidate, the light against the BJP lotus symbol lit up.
Mocking this incident, Tharoor also said that he couldn't understand why the votes are going only to the BJP, not to any other party. Voting across 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala have commenced. A total of 2,61,51,534 voters will exercise their right to vote in the state. Among them 1,34,66,521 are women, 1,26,84,839 men and 174 are transgenders.
