Income Tax officials raid Congress minister's aide Arif Karlekar's residence in Karnataka

Bagalkot: With just two days for Karnataka's phase two Lok Sabha election, Income tax officials conducted raids on Bijapur's JD(S) constituency candidate Sunita Chavan and minister Shivanand Patil after former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and state chief minister HD Kumaraswamy completed their campaign in Vijayapura.

According to reports, it is said that the IT officials also raided Arif Karlekar's house who is said to be a close aide of Congress leader Shivanand Patil. Arif is an employee of the DCC Bank in Bagalkot. The reports further stated that Arif had withdrawn Rs 1 crore from his bank account on Friday. Further reports on this regard are awaited.
