Thiruvananthapuram: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Oommen Chandy has changed his stand and has claimed that he never said Rahul Gandhi will be contesting from Wayanad in Kerala.
Earlier, Chandy made a straight pitch by saying that they welcome Congress president Rahul for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. He had also said that he got assurance from the senior leader AK Antony that Rahul will be contesting from Kerala.
Before the official announcement, Wayanad Youth Congress activists also had celebrated Rahul's candidature.
