BJP announces fourth list, K Surendran from Pathanamthitta

Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP has announced the new candidate list on Saturday. The list included the name of the Pathanamthitta candidate in Kerala. K Surendran will be contesting from Pathanamthitta, where the Ayyappa shrine is located.

Surendran was in the forefront of the protest over the entry of women in menstrual age into the Sabarimala temple. The BJP on March 21 had finalised its seat-sharing deal with the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS)and Kerala Congress (PC Thomas) for the Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP will field candidates in 14 constituencies in Kerala, while the BDJS will contest in five seats, PC Thomas-led Kerala Congress will contest one seat - Kottayam.

BJP state chief PS Sreedharan Pillai and Union tourism minister KJ Alphons Kannanthanam were in the race for the Pathanamthitta ticket.
