Shivamogga Lok Sabha poll: Madhu Bangarappa confident of victory against Yeddyurappa’s son Raghavendra

Shivamogga: Madhu Bangarappa, the JD(S)-Congress alliance candidate for the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat, expressed confidence of defeating former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa’s son and incumbent MP BY Raghavendra.
In an exclusive interview with MyNation, JD(S) leader Madhu questioned the lack of commitment by the BJP’s Raghavendra in terms of development, not giving land rights to the people living in the forest areas. He also his views on the JD(S)-Congress ties, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's retirement plans from politics. He spelt out his vision for Shivamogga if elected on May 23. He vowed to be with the people of Shivamogga come what may and address their issues in the Parliament. He promised to provide better irrigation facilities to help areca nut growers and paddy farmers.
In November 2018, Madhu, the son of former state chief minister late S Bangarappa, had lost to Raghavendra by a margin of 52,148 votes in the Shivamogga by-election. Now, the duo will face off again.
Karnataka’s remaining 14 Parliamentary constituencies will vote on April 23. On April 18, the state’s 14 Lok Sabha seats went to polls.
