Reigning ODI World Champions England beat India by eight wickets to enter the final of the ICC Women's World T20 on Friday
North Sound (Antigua): India was knocked out of the Women's World T20 after losing the semi-final against England as they were bowled out for 112 in 19.3 overs. On the other hand, England chased down the target in 17.1 overs and qualified for Sunday's final meet against Australia.
India batted first and was stable at 77/2 in 10 overs when a batting collapse was triggered by Jemimah Rodrigues' wicket that ended in the team being bowled out in 19.3 overs. Seven Indian batters failed to get into double figures. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur elected to stick to the winning combination and left out India's senior-most player, Mithali Raj, who had recovered from her injury.
England's Kirstie Gordon (2/20), skipper Heather Knight (3/9) and Sophie Ecclestone (2/22) wreaked havoc reaching the below-par target in only 17.1 overs. Amy Jones (53 no off 45 balls) and Natalie Sciver (52 no off 40 balls) added 92 runs for third wicket to result in the victory of England.
