New Delhi: The BCCI has largely given the impression of being an opaque organisation that runs according to the whims and fancies of a few. The law commission had said that BCCI had been "flying under the radar of public scrutiny and encouraged an environment of opacity and non-accountability". Hence, the commission favoured the BCCI being brought under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

That is what the central information commission (CIC) has done now, bringing the national cricket body under the ambit of the Act. Now, this is a welcome step. MyNation tells you why.
