Jakarta: Teenage shooter Saurabh Chaudhary gave India its third gold in the ongoing Asian Games in Indonesia on Tuesday.

Sixteen-year-old Chaudhary set an Asian Games record on way to clinching gold in the men’s 10m Air Pistol event at Jakabaring International Shooting Range.

Two Indians finished on the podium as Abhishek Verma took bronze. Japan’s Tomoyuki Matsuda bagged silver.

Chaudhary had a total score of 240.7 to take the top spot. Verma had a score of 219.3.

So far India has won three gold medals in Indonesia, two in wrestling (Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat) and one today in shooting.

Overall, India has one gold, two silver and one bronze from shooting. Earlier, Deepak Kumar and Lakshay Sheoran won silver in 10m air rifle and trap events respectively while the tally was opened with a bronze by Ravi Kumar and Apurvi Chandela in 10m rifle mixed team event.
