Chennai: Tamil actor Simbu's brother Kuralarasan, who is also the son of veteran actor-politician T Rajendaran married his long-time girlfriend Nabeelah R Ahmed. The marriage was held on April 26.

Nabeelah R Ahmed is a budding musician and rumours have it that Kuralarasan converted to Islam to marry her.

Their wedding reception was held at a posh hotel in Chennai on Monday evening. The party was graced by the couple's well-wishers, close friends apart from the who's who of the Tamil film industry.

Gautham Karthik, Latha Rajinikanth, K Bhagyaraj, Ameer, MK Stalin, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Siddharth, Khusbhu, Sundar C, S Ve Shekher, and Suriya were among those who attended the wedding reception.

The bride wore a traditional lengha in light peach colour, while the groom donned a black tuxedo. Kuralarasan's elder brother Simbu was looking handsome in a bottle green kurta-pyjama with a golden dupatta. Take a look:

Kuralarasan, who is a Hindu by birth, has allegedly converted to the Islam religion. And his family has not objected to his decision.Β

A few months ago, a video went viral where one can see Kuralarasan and his parents sitting at a mosque in Chennai's Anna Salai where their son converted. Reacting to his son's conversion, Rajendaran reportedly said, "Tolerance of all religions is my policy. My elder son STR is an ardent Siva devotee. My daughter Ilakkiya is a Christian and now my younger son has preferred to follow Islam. I respect his decision."

Kuralarasan has acted in films like Alai and Sonnalthan Kadhala. He even composed music for Pandiraj's film Idhu Namma Aalu, starring his brother Simbu.
