RGV took to social media to claim that he will be filing a complaint against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for illegally stopping Lakshmi's NTR release.
Mumbai: Ever since Ram Gopal Varma's movie, Lakshmi's NTR, went on floors, it has been grabbing national headlines. In fact, when the trailer of Lakshmi's NTR was unveiled, many felt that the film showed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in wrong light.
As per reports, the release of RGV's movie has been stopped by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). The film was scheduled to hit the screens on March 22. The Censor Board has cited the election model code of conduct as the reason behind it.

Recently, RGV took to Twitter and wrote about filing a case on the CBFC to accept his application to watch Lakshmi's NTR before the elections.
The CBFC has no authority to postpone watching the film on the ground of model code for conduct even before viewing,which amounts to a blatant violation of fundamental right of Freedom of Expression guaranteed under Article 19 of the Constitution of India.

He tweeted, “There has been an unfortunate misunderstanding between our office and the CBFC which has now been cleared ..The CBFC is now doing the necessary action as per the laid down procedure ..Hence our press meet against the CBFC is cancelled ..Jai NTR #LakshmiNTR. — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin)As per the CBFC, the plea for certification was rejected due to elections and said that how they would have to avert criticism on aspects of the private life of anyone. CBFC in a statement revealed that Varma's Lakshmi's NTR certification process cannot be processed, "Your application cannot be processed further for examining till the first phase of election polls are held on 11th April 2019, in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh."
Later, Varma had released a statement yesterday March 18 in which the initial part mentions, “THE CENTRAL BOARD OF FILM CERTIFICATION (CBFC),in a signed Letter informed me that my application for them to view my film cannot be processed for examining and certification till the 1st phase of polls on 11-04-2019, as the movie attracts the provisions of model code of conduct for elections because parties and candidates will have to refrain from criticism of all aspects of private life and criticism of other parties or their workers based on unverified allegations or distortion. A copy of some material about the statement of N.Lakshmi Parvathi against Telugu Desam Party was also annexed with the letter which has absolutely no relevance with the issue of the film.”
