In an audio clip, Tamilselvan reportedly criticised Dinakaran's leadership which prompted the party founder to replace Tamilselvan with another suitable party candidate.
Chennai: Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary TTV Dinakaran on Saturday (June 29) said that the resignation of the administrators would not disrupt the party. This comment, by the AMMK founder, came a day after Thanga Tamilselvan, joined the MK Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Friday (June 28).
Speaking to reporters, Dinakaran expressed his anger when a reporter questioned him about Tamilselvan's exit. The AMMK chief told the reporter to not waste time by asking him about Tamilselvan quitting the party. He later said that his exit would not disrupt the party.
Earlier, after the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) expelled TTV Dinakaran, his trusted partner, Thanga Tamilselvan also quit his party and joined Dinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK). A native of Theni district, he was appointed as the policy secretary of the AMMK.
In the recent Lok Sabha election, Thanga Tamilselvan lost to Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam's son Raveendranath Kumar in Theni constituency. Since then, several disagreements have taken place between TTV Dinakaran and Tamilselvan.
Recently, an audio clip surfaced on social media in which, allegedly, Tamilselvan is heard criticising TTV Dinakaran over the phone. Following this, Dinakaran called for a meeting and said that another eligible candidate would replace Tamilselvan.
