New Delhi: The Patiala House Court on Tuesday allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate AgustaWestland middleman Christian Michel in jail.

The court allowed the ED to visit the jail on Wednesday between 10.30 am-12:30 pm or 2.30-4:30 pm. It also directed that a jail official should be present during the interrogation and a medical test should be done before that.

Michel's lawyers have also been allowed to be present for half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening during the investigation. The court has also sought CCTV footage of the past five days.

Michel had filed an application requesting the court to allow him to be shifted to a cell different from the one he is lodged in at the moment, allegedly in isolation.

Responding to Michel's application, the jail authorities said in court, "He has been provided all facilities and he has been provided a separate cell for his convenience. There are no Kashmiri and Pakistani prisoners in jail number one and they are all in jail number 8. We had shifted a Kashmir prisoner a month back and as of now no Kashmiri prisoner lodged in jail number one."

Earlier, Michel in his statement told the court that there were Kashmiri prisoners in his cell and that they were moved to another cell two-three days back.

Michel added that IPS officer Rakesh Asthana had told him in Dubai that his life will be turned into hell in jail and that's what was happening. "I don't understand why I am put in such tough jails," Michel said.

Michel has demanded that he be lodged in jail number 7. The next date for hearing Michel's application is March 14.
