4 Tamil Nadu constituencies to go to by-polls on May 19

Four Tamil Nadu seats that fell vacant due to the disqualification of MLAs and the death of a sitting MLA will now be in the by-poll race. The Election Commission of India has announced the dates of election for these constituencies as May 19. Along with these four constituencies, Panaji (Goa) and Kundgol (Karnataka) will also witness by-elections.

New Delhi: Four constituencies that were initially not slated for by-polls in Tamil Nadu will now be in the election race. Sulur, Aravakurichi AC, Thiruparankundram and Ottapidaram will go to polls on May 19.

The Election Commission has announced that the fate of four constituencies in Tamil Nadu will be decided on May 19.

These four constituencies are not the only ones that will see by-polls. Even Panaji (Goa MP seat) and Kundgol (Karnataka Assemby seat) are in the race.

The last day of filing nomination for these seats is April 29 and the last day for withdrawal of candidature is May 2.

The results will be counted on May 23, along with results for the Lok Sabha election.
